sweet little girl curls

Kate has the cutest curls EVER!
Kate's hair is starting to grow and it is getting pretty long in the back.
Every morning I take great pride in "styling" her delicate little curls.
(Styling = Spraying No More Tangles; combing out the tangles; and scrunching up her hair.)
Sometimes her curls make it to daycare and sometimes she has a few left when I pick her up at the end of the day.
I am sure I could find a much better way to use the five minutes every morning but I can't help myself.
They are just too stinking cute!

a new hobby

I have always been looking for a hobby.
Eric has even told me I need to find a hobby.
While I was snowed in over spring break I started reading more blogs. It was fun... many times one blog leads to another blog. Some blogs made me laugh, some blogs made me cry... but they give you a peak into someone else life and their perspective on things.
As I was enjoying my time reading I started thinking that maybe blogging and photography (digital, amateur, of course) could be my new hobby. I have always loved to write and I LOVE to take photos of Kate... so maybe this is the perfect hobby for me.
I hope you enjoy what's to come!

fourteen months is just around the crner... - april 4, 2009

As I was looking through pictures of the past three weeks I have realized what a blessing the it has been to have some "time off." First I was home for four days because Kate had RSV and a double ear infection. Then I had two snow days due to the spring blizzard. And then I had spring break. On many of those days I thought I was going to go crazy! But now looking back I have realized that this time will never come again. Kate is growing from a baby into a toddler. She is on the verge of walking! She wants to explore, explore, explore!
Her little mind is learning a million new things a day!
(Okay, maybe not a million but a lot!)
She is so open and innocent!
Kate is reminding me all over again why I became a teacher and fell in love with early childhood.
But more importantly Kate is reminding me that being a parent is one of the hardest but most rewarding and fulfilling jobs that I will ever do!
Oh how I love her...

thirteen months three weeks - march 31, 2009

The early childhood teacher in me could not wait for the day to introduce crayons to Kate. I believe I bought her first box of crayons when she was around 10 months old. I thought she would love them and love to color... she did love them... she loved to eat them!
She still loves to eat them but has begun to understand that you should use them to color on paper with. While we were coloring recently I discovered that she loves stickers. She loves to choose a sticker and place it on her paper. It is so much fun to watch her pick a sticker and put it on her paper.
I can't wait to introduce the next crayola item!
Will it be markers, paint, chalk...
