backpack backpack

Kate was THRILLED when her backpack arrived in the mail from her Mama (grandma!)
Her backpack travels back and forth from school faithfully everyday.
I love how the little things in life bring her such joy!

first bike ride to the park

Kate took her first bike ride to the park.
(It was more like a bike push, she still can't work the pedals.)

She enjoyed her "ride", had fun playing on the playground equipment, and loved watching the geese.

We are looking forward to more rides to the park!

what a difference a month makes

A month ago our world was turned upside down.

Kate was diagnosed with asthma, she took another trip the the Children's ER, had another bout with pneumonia, and seemed to be fighting taking any type of medicine and treatment.

A month later that has all changed!

Now Kate will calmly take her breathing/asthma treatments.  She likes to shake her inhaler, hold the air chamber, and watch the small yellow disk move back and forth. (The small yellow disk indicates she is inhaling and exhaling.)

Kate has also reached a few other milestones...

She now sleeps in a toddler bed.
She is working on potty training (and stays fairly "dry" most days!)
And talks in complete sentences the majority of the time.

I am so amazed and pleased with the progress!

while mommy is away Kate will play

This past school year I had the exciting opportunity to be a Innovative Technology Leader in my school district.  One of the perks was being able to attend ISTE the last week in June.
While I got to learn and explore Kate got to spend a few fun days with her grandparents and daddy.
They took a trip to the zoo, train museum, and looked a some model homes.
Kate had a blast and enjoyed every minute of play!
