giving thanks day 4, 5, 6, and 7

So I lost track of time and forgot to pick up my camera during the remainder of Thanksgiving break.  Crazy how life gets in the way of well thought plans.

We had an amazing Thanksgiving with Eric's family.  Ever since Eric and I have started dating we have spent Thanksgiving with his family.  I look forward to it every year.  Every year I bake a pie or two, we drive an hour south, and spend the majority of the day relaxing, talking, eating, laughing, and enjoying each other's company.  I would not trade it for the world.  I truly give thanks for those precious Thanksgiving moments every year.

On Friday (day 5), I gave thanks to spend the morning with my dear friend Jami.  It is truly a blessing to have time to gather, chat, laugh, and love on our beautiful children.  I am so blessed to call her my friend!

On Saturday (day 6), I struggled to find a reason to give thanks.  Kate seemed to derail all shopping plans and I wanted to either pull my hair out or crawl under a rug during several moments during the day.  I am thankful for the food in our cupboards and the shelter of our home.  Even though Kate can be quiet naughty at times I am thankful for her and the joy she does bring.

Sunday (day 7) was a calm, relaxing, day.  I am thankful for those days and having moments to breath.  We all need those days...

I still continue to find things to give thanks for as I go about my day.  It helps be keep my focus on the positive and not get so hung up on all the other "stuff" that sneaks into life.

I do hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful and you gathered with friends and family.  I also hope you continue to challenge yourself to give thanks on daily basis.
